You can watch our podcast series below or listen here:

The MBN Solutions UK Data Salary Survey 2022 was produced to provide an analysis of the latest hiring trends in data as well as a breakdown of salaries by role and region across the UK.

The survey was augmented by research we conducted around 4 main topic areas that we, our clients, and our community regard as crucial to the attraction of niche talent such as data analysts, data scientists and data engineers, focusing on:

   -  Purpose in Work

   - The Globalisation of Talent

   - The Changing Shape of Reward Packages

   - Diversity & Inclusion

In each episode of this podcast series, we will take a deeper dive into one of these topics – with a special guest providing their input based on their background and experience in the data space.

In this episode we discuss The Impact of Globalisation of Talent

Globalisation has been a theme of data talent acquisition strategy for several years now. However, events such as Brexit, pronounced local talent shortages and the societal impact of the recent pandemic have accelerated many organisations towards more widely adopting work from home, work from anywhere and remote/hybrid work combinations.

On this episode we were joined by Stephen Garland, Chief Technology and Product Officer at Trustpilot to discuss the topic in more detail

     3 Main Takeaways:

1 ) For any globalised talent strategy to work, it must be built on trust

2 ) The globalised talent marketplace presents opportunities for data leaders to scale – but it also presents challenges as your own local talent can now be hired globally

3 ) A holistic approach involving processes, management structure, reward and purpose is required to take advantage of today’s globalized data talent
